Satellite symposia applications are now closed and capacity has been reached for both 90-minute and 120-minute slots. A waiting list has been created for late requests in case of a cancellation. If you would like to be on this waiting list please contact [email protected] for more information.

Satellite symposia provide your organization with a unique opportunity to showcase your work in a setting that will offer you an exceptional exposure to the world’s leading HIV professionals.


Satellite symposia will take place all day on Monday 18 July and in the mornings and evenings from Tuesday 19 July to Friday 22 July. They are available for a fee, based on the room capacity and the time slot.

Though taking place in the conference centre, satellite symposia are fully organized and coordinated by the organization hosting the satellite. The conference organizers will review the content of each symposium to ensure that it meets the scientific and ethical principles of the conference.

Criteria for approval include the following:

  • Satellites should reflect and/or support the vision and goals of the conference;
  • Satellites should address HIV/AIDS, co-infections or issues faced by individuals or organizations affected by or responding to the HIV/AIDS epidemic;
  • Satellites should reflect conference policies and goals of diversity and inclusion.

Satellite Holders Benefits

Satellite holders will have the following benefits:

  • Company listing in the Pocket Programme (printed) and the Programme-at-a-Glance (online)
  • Company listing in the Mobile App
  • A number of complimentary day passes are offered to satellite organizers: for rooms with capacities of either 180 or 300, 5 day passes will be offered; rooms with capacities of 500 will be offered 10 complimentary day passes; rooms of 750+ capacity will be offered 15 complimentary day passes. Satellite organizers who have booked prime time satellite slots will be offered 20 complimentary day passes regardless of the room capacity chosen. Day passes include access, only on the day of your satellite, to all conference sessions, satellite symposia, the Exhibition and the poster area. If more than the number of free passes are needed, additional persons have to be registered as regular conference delegates.

Satellites are available in a number of formats depending on the room capacity, the time slot you choose, in addition to choosing a 90-minute or 120-minute satellite.


  • 90 minute slots

    90 minute slots take place on the mornings of Tuesday 19 July – Friday 22 July. The room capacities and prices are:

Please note that:

  • Room capacities are estimates at this early stage of planning and may vary by 15%.
  • Rooms are equipped with all the standard equipment required to run a meeting. Additional equipment (e.g. additional microphones, lead capture devices, Audience Response Systems (ARS)) can be rented.
  • 90-minute satellite symposia only take place in the mornings (07:00 - 08:30), from Tuesday 19 July to Friday 22 July 2016.
  • 120-minute satellite symposia take place all day on Monday 18 July and in the evenings (18:30 - 20:30) on Tuesday 19 July to Thursday 21 July 2016.
