New office launched

The International AIDS Society (IAS) has established an office in Durban to coordinate AIDS 2016, the 21st International AIDS Conference.  Set for July 18-22, 2016 at the Durban International Convention Centre, the conference is expected to draw more than 20,000 participants from around the world. A reception to mark the occasion, held on Wednesday 10 June at eThekwini City Hall, was attended by the Honourable Senzo Mchunu, Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Member of the Executive Council, Mr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, Dr Olive Shisana, local co-chair of AIDS 2016 and CEO of the Human Sciences Research Council of South Africa, and other leaders from government, UNAIDS, civil society, and the business community.
